    Professor Newstead is a world-leading expert in membrane protein structural biochemistry, with over two decades of pioneering research on SLC transporters and membrane protein mechanisms, covering key areas such as neurodegeneration, inflammation, and chronic pain. His expertise strongly aligns with CMU's strategic goals in biomedical and neuroscience research, offering substantial momentum to our academic community. Professor Newstead is enthusiastic about visiting CMU to share his latest findings and explore substantive collaborations, which will greatly enhance our international academic networks.
